While votes alone don't directly lead to a film adaptation, high vote counts on BookToMovies have caught the attention of studios and producers. Our Request Board data has been cited by industry outlets, and several books that trended on our platform were later optioned for film or TV development. We also share monthly reports with partner studios highlighting the most-requested titles.
The Request Board is specifically for books that have not yet been adapted into film or television. If a book has already been adapted, you can find it in our Adaptations Index. However, if you believe a book deserves a new or better adaptation (like a remake or a more faithful version), you can note that in the comments when submitting.
Rankings are determined primarily by total community votes, but our algorithm also factors in recent momentum (votes gained in the past 30 days), social media buzz, and development status updates. Books that are actively being developed or have attached talent receive status badges but are not boosted in the rankings — only genuine community interest drives placement.
